We hired Josh Dickey from Festive Events for my daughter’s fusion wedding (Indian and Jewish), and it was one of the best decisions we made! From the first consultation to the last dance of the night, he was professional, responsive, and genuinely passionate about making our day unforgettable. The transitions were seamless, and he mixed our favorite songs Indian and Jewish with crowd-pleasers . Josh also did a great job with announcements and coordinating with our planner and venue. The sound system was clear during the ceremony and speeches, and the lighting setup gave the reception an amazing atmosphere. We’ve gotten so many compliments from our guests about how fun the night was — and a huge part of that was thanks to the DJ. As the master of ceremonies at the reception, he kept things moving and the dance floor packed until the very last song of the night! This company has not only provided my venues with music and entertainment, they also served as the sound engineers and producers for the bands and musicians that performed at my ""Back Yard Bash" venues over the years. I recently attended the Bridal Bash in Nantasket, MA, organized by Festive Events, and I was extremely disappointed. The event heavily advertised “random giveaways” included with the ticket price, which were a major reason I attended. However, the execution completely failed to meet expectations. After visiting all vendor booths (as instructed to earn additional entries), attendees were told the major giveaways—a $10,000 facial device, a honeymoon, and others—would not be random drawings as promised. Instead, the organizers decided to award these prizes through arbitrary activities like trivia, a guessing game, and even musical chairs. Their justification? Some attendees had left early, which, in my opinion, defeats the purpose of “must be present to win.” Staying until the end should have naturally increased the odds for those who remained—no need for these gimmicky games. This unprofessional approach turned what should have been an exciting and fair part of the event into a frustrating and exclusionary spectacle. It felt like a bait-and-switch, as the giveaways were clearly advertised as random but were instead turned into a chaotic competition. Based on this experience, I would never consider using Festive Events for my wedding. The lack of professionalism, organization, and follow-through does not inspire confidence. My husband and I were fortunate enough to have Dave Long as our DJ at our 9/8/23 wedding. Throughout the wedding planning process, Dave was easy to get a hold of, enthusiastic, and professional. On the wedding day, he smoothly transitioned between music and announcements, checked in with us regarding the timeline, and was flexible in making on-the-spot adjustments when necessary. Dave paid attention to the song requests we provided him, even giving us more than one shoutout when he received compliments on the setlist. Our guests were thrilled with the music that was played, and we felt at ease knowing that we had a pro behind the mic all night long. Highly recommend!
